talking of half-finished projects…

If you check my Flickr stream you will notice that one of the first photos of crocheting projects I have ever posted is this

Blanket

and it was in May 2009…

This morning, while sorting out one of the last boxes, what did I find??

Taaa-daaaa!

this is my progress as of today. I haven’t worked on it for a long time now cause… well, I have noticed that my “hand” has changed in the meantime and I seem to crochet much tighter now, so the squares end up being *way* smaller! sigh sigh

The blanket is already pretty big and it could eventually be left the way it is, but I have enough yarn for just as many squares, so what to do?? Using a bigger hook is out of the question, cause I think that the change would be too visible and crocheting more losely is not quite an option cause it doesn’t feel comfortable and looks wonky… aaaaargh!

Here is a good serie of reasons why you should complete projects instead of having them sitting there forever, I guess!

where I have been :)

Well, many of you might have noticed that I have been absent for a while ๐Ÿ™‚
I case that you have been wondering where did I disappear… well, here is a hint!

Lanzarote, te amo!

I was in Lanzarote again doing some final field work in order to (at last!) complete my PhD… and well, I definitely enjoyed myself! I love that island and I can’t have enough of its wonderful landscapes though I have been there plenty of times already ๐Ÿ™‚

El Golfo - Lanzarote

Before I went to Lanzarote I also went to Italy to visit my family and friends. It was great to spend some time with them!
In the town where they (I?) live there is a huge garden with the most beautiful roses… I think that actually a world famous competition is held there, or something similar, so each year in May you can just have a look around and see some of the most amazing roses ever ๐Ÿ™‚ The colours and the textures are just incredible!

Well, I am back now! I probably won’t be posting as regularly as I wish I could, since my PhD writing is taking up most of my time, but I have been collecting some cool ideas for the next POTW’s, so stay tuned!
